About the Founder: Daniel and the Story of Briefio

Hi everyone, I’m Daniel, and I’m the founder of Briefio.

My background is deeply rooted in science. I’ve been fortunate to pursue various scientific degrees, holding an MD, a PhD, and a Master of Science in Medical Engineering. My professional journey started in the operating room, specifically in Cardiac Surgery, before I transitioned to the industry, working internationally for both Medical Device and Pharmaceutical Companies. Throughout my career, I’ve always been incredibly amazed by the power and potential of technology.

In my line of work, reading countless scientific papers is a daily necessity. But beyond the demands of my profession, I’m also a passionate runner. One day, while out on a run, it hit me: wouldn’t it be incredible if I could just take my scientific papers with me and listen to them?

The reality, however, is that listening to an entire scientific paper is not only incredibly time-consuming but often quite challenging to follow audibly. That’s when the idea for Briefio was born. We thought: what if we could develop an AI that extracts the essence of these papers and transforms it into engaging audio files, making it easier—and even enjoyable—to absorb complex scientific information? You can then organize these audios into playlists, so you can easily take a whole stack of “reading” with you on your next 30-minute run. Think of it as a Spotify for Science.

This is my first venture into app development, and I’m really excited about the potential of Briefio to help the scientific community. We’re on a mission to make scientific literature more accessible and digestible, whether you’re commuting, exercising, or just prefer to learn by listening.

I’m eager to hear your thoughts and feedback as we continue to improve Briefio. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly at daniel@briefio.app.

I would be happy if you stay connected and join my newsletter. I will post some updates of the app and my journey from time to time.
